The vocation of liberty in San Martin

One the most stimulating debates in Latin-America Freemasonry is the double dimension of political militant and Freemason in the personality of San Martin, the liberator of the Americas. Most of his biographers see this dimension as something impossible to separate. This conclusion is most certain. For the partisans of liberalism of late eighteen century the political dimension of their activity was a relevant part of its dimension of intellectual. Because they would not search the Light in their masonic path without taking to the "profane" life the same struggle for enlightenment, perseverance of Liberty and pursue of Happiness. The dark side was represented not only by the passions and the ambitions within themselves but by the angels of Death, the monarchies of absolute right in central  and southern Europe. These olicharcies represent for them the same as the absolute King (George) in England for the Founding Fathers of the American Revolution. How actual is the thought and aims of men such as San Martin in this beginning of the 21st Century? That question invites a more detailled reflexion. Here an article about the Liberator in the newspaper El Litoral  (Argentina).

San Martín no inventa nada. The rest here.
