The Grand Lodge of Cuba held on the 5th December a ceremony to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Obedience associating 250 guests from 25 countries.
According to organisers, presents at the ceremony were representatives from Guatemala, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Ecuador, Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Bahamas, Bermudas, Germany, Russia, Austria, Holand, United Kingdom, Spain, the USA among others.
Cuban Freemasons paid homage to the National Hero Jose Marti at Central Park in Old Havana the day before.
The commemorations closed with an artistic gala at the Basilica San Francisco de Asis, where the first Masonic meeting in the 18th century was held.
Cuba is the first communist country in the world to recognize freemasonry as a legal and patriotic entity.
